Course system as of the school year 2023/2024

As of the school year 2023/2024, we are adding a course system to our pedagogical concept. The first learning time starts between 7.30 am and 8.00 am and ends at 11.00 am. During this time, the pupils learn together in their mixed-age groups. This time is reserved daily for the Freiarbeit and is supported by two teachers. The second and third learning time is 90 minutes each. The children can choose their personal learning time from a variety of courses. There is a choice of courses in the areas of sports, music, experiential education, language (both German and English), science, peace education, media technology and media design, but also school gardening in close cooperation with the student company, special needs and many more. In this way, we offer our pupils the opportunity to deepen their interests or to discover and work on completely new subject areas.

From Monday to Thursday, at least eight courses, and on Fridays at least three courses are available for the students to choose from. The selection of courses takes place every six months. In addition to the interests of the pupils, course recommendations are made by the teachers in close consultation with the parents. School ends at 3 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays and at 12.30 p.m. (without lunch) and 1.30 p.m. (with lunch) on Fridays. For our fourth graders, there will be compulsory courses to ensure that grades are given. In the course “Fit for Fifth Grade”, our students will continue to work on preparing for secondary school. Compulsory swimming lessons for Year 3 will also take place once a week at lunchtime. The groups are taught by two specialists with Montessori diplomas (or in training), substitutions are ensured by creative teachers. As a rule, these teachers also support the group teams during the daily lessons.Freiarbeit within the first learning period.
