Farewell to fourth graders
Our 4th graders took care of the set-up for their farewell ceremony in front of our school building. Almost on time at 11 a.m. our headmistress Regine Hadaschik welcomed all pupils and their guests. Our fourth graders sang our Montilied as a welcome
Pupils from our Acacia group performed a dance they had choreographed themselves and received rapturous applause from the audience. Children from the Birch Group recited a poem they had written themselves, which was also very well received. In her speech, the headmistress said goodbye to the pupils of the fourth year and compared life with a book, as the chapter of the primary school years is now closing. Many more chapters will follow in school life
At the end, all the teachers of the groups called their pupils to them, gave each child a tree slice with very personal words as a reminder of their Monti time and let our chain continue to grow with the traditional wooden beads. Each wooden bead symbolises a child who has completed Grade 4 at our Montessori school. At the end, the foursome sang the song “Comet” with lyrics adapted to them
Very moved children, parents and teachers left a very successful and touching farewell party.
